Protect Colorado Workers’ Paychecks Now!
Oppose Senate Bill 5
Act NOW before it’s too late! This issue is moving fast and we need to unite to protect our paychecks!
Colorado’s state legislature is considering changing the rules to make it easier for organizations to deduct money from workers’ paychecks whether they choose to join the organization or not. Sign the petition today to preserve our choice.
Why does this matter?
- We should have a choice at work regarding whether we join an organization and pay dues or not. This move takes away our choices at work.
- We have no say about how these dues are used – labor union dues are often used to support politicians and issues that workers may or may not agree with.
- Workers can barely afford to live in Colorado as is – our cost of living is among the most expensive in the nation. We can’t afford for groups to take more money out of our paychecks. $11 eggs, anyone?
- The average union dues in Colorado could be over $1,000 per year. That’s a lot of money to a lot of people.
- This new law could apply to virtually any job in Colorado – not just at big companies or public companies – all jobs.
